some people live around here are without water. you are talking about 20 buildings in the 800 block of north calvert street. less than a week after a 60-inch water main broke on charles and 20th street, this morning of 40-inch in the 200 block of madison street began gushing water or around 8:30 this morning. >> i went in to make coffee and there was no water pressure. i had no idea there was a water main break. >> cars parked in a parking lot near the break had to be towed out before they became flooded. water rushed down madison street beneath the jones falls expressway. crews scramble to get to the valves to get the water turned off. it was quite a mess. >> baltimore is going to be

underneath the water. they need to get to the problem and deal with it. >> it seems like these water main breaks will continue until the city is able to replace its aging bikes. -- its aging pipes. >> i wish to could do something about fixing the age-old infrastructure. we have talked about that many times. baltimore city has a very old infrastructure and this is just an indication that age is finally catching up. >> meanwhile, once again you can see progress is being made fast today for this 30-inch main. they will pump the water out and once they get down there, it is not very deep, 6-8 below the surface of the road. then they can determine how long it will take to get that pipe out and repair the damaged pipe. meanwhile, while this is going on, crews got a call about

another main break, this one in rosedale. that is where gary sims is come alive. >> we checked in just a little while ago with the department's public works and they say they are handling seven water main breaks, five of them that happened just today. that includes this one here in the 8800 block of philadelphia road in rosedale. they say this happen between 12 and 12:30 this afternoon. the department of public works says it is a 16-inch main that broke. officials at franklin square medical center said they had low water pressure and the restricted drinking water as a precaution. they say now the situation has improved and the water pressure is back. a community college cancel classes because of the break. stevens received word by e-mail and also a text message. -- students received word.

information office here in ellicott city is closed because of the veterans day holiday. at any rate, a number of employees at that talk of bell in colombia have identified the victim as 30-0 gary graham. tonight he isn't shock trauma in critical -- tonight he is at shock trauma in critical condition. a little more than 24 hours after a manager, who employees identified as a 30-year-old gary graham, was shot in the restaurant parking lot. police would not confirm the victim's name. police say around 12:50 sunday morning, the victim was confronted by two men outside the store and they began shooting at him. the victim was struck several times and manage to get into the top of bell, where employees called 911. at the exxon gas station across from the top old bell, mohammad

says graham was a regular at the store and right before he was shot, he purchased something in the store and was confronted as he left. >> somewhere in the parking lot they grabbed him. >> the station's owner says he also handed over surveillance camera footage to police, which they hope will give them more clues about the case in what he calls a highly unusual incident. >> it is very rare that something like this would happen here. i have been here 12 years and we've had no incidents. to hear something like this so close by is very uncommon in very unusual. it is kind of alarming, too. >> in a news release, police said that a motive is unknown and that the investigation is ongoing. so far, they are looking for two males in this case. lowell melser, wbal-tv 11 news. >> here's a look at some of our

other top stories at this hour. two new water main breaks tonight, the first in the mount vernon area of baltimore city. it happened shortly after 8:00 this morning on east madison street. low water pressure and cloudy water have been affecting residents and businesses. this comes less than a week after a 60-inch main broke on -- >> street. earlier this afternoon, a 16- inch water main broke. surrounding institutions have been affected by the break but now they say water pressure is back to normal at franklin square hospital in baltimore county community college as well. one man is in critical condition after being shot in the head sunday night. police found an african-american man lying unconscious in a wooded area. his identity as not been released. detectives are looking into the case and there is no word on a motive or possible suspects.
